Position1. Postdoctoral researcher 1. Postdoctoral researcher, visiting scholar, and Ph.D. students Description Applications are invited for postdoctoral, visiting scholar, and Ph.D student positions to work on mass spectrometry-based computational metabolomics/proteomics and the integration and modeling of &minus omics data. The successful candidate is expected to identify and formulate new mathematical problems and to apply applied mathematics, statistics, and machine learning to designing novel algorithms. This project is an integral part of our long-term goal to develop predictive models of biological systems based on heterogeneous types of &minus omics data. Qualifications
The Department of Bioinformatics & Genomics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is engaged in a multi-year expansion program encompassing two major sites. In addition to a new $35M state-of-the art bioinformatics building on the University&prime s main campus, the Department has the leadership role in bioinformatics for the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) at Kannapolis. The NCRC is a $1.5B, 350-acre biotechnology research park that will be home to the research programs of seven North Carolina research universities and several health care organizations, as well as a large number of private biotechnology companies. The interested applicants should email a CV, a description of research interest, and the name and contact information of three references to xiuxia.du@uncc.edu. 2.
